Super Bowl 54 Futures Odds Update

With the playoff teams set, the Super Bowl futures odds have been trimmed down to 12.

Leading the way on the Super Bowl futures at Bovada Sportsbook are the Baltimore Ravens at +220. The No. 1 seed in the AFC, the Ravens have won their last six games at home but in the postseason they’re only 2-3 in their last five home games.

Following the Ravens on the futures are two more teams getting byes this week, the Kansas City Chiefs at +375 and the San Francisco 49ers at +400. The Chiefs will get at least one playoff game at home, but they may prefer to play on the road as they’re 1-7 in their last eight home playoff games. The 49ers were 6-2 at home this season and they’re 4-1 in their last five home playoff games.

Saints listed at +600 on Super Bowl odds

The first team on the futures oddsboard that is actually playing this week is the New Orleans Saints down at +600. The Saints’ playoff journey begins at home vs the Minnesota Vikings this weekend. In the 2018 postseason, the Saints lost to the Vikings 29-24 in Minnesota on the final play of the game as a 5.5-point underdog.

The Vikings, who are listed at +4000 on the Super Bowl futures, have lost four straight playoff road games, and they’re 2-12 in their last 14 away from home in the postseason.

After the Saints, the Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots are both listed at +1000. The Packers, with the other bye this weekend, were 7-1 at home this season but they’re only 5-5 in their last 10 playoff home games.

Defending champs +1000 to win Super Bowl

The defending Super Bowl champions don’t have home-field advantage through the postseason this year and it could cost them. The Patriots will be at home to the Tennessee Titans this weekend, but if they win they’ll head out on the road to face either Baltimore or Kansas City. In their last 12 playoff road games, the Patriots are 4-8.

Two teams that meet up this weekend are next on the Super Bowl futures with the Philadelphia Eagles and Seattle Seahawks both at +2800. In their matchup, the Seahawks are a 1.5-point road favorite. Earlier this season, the Seahawks defeated the Eagles 17-9 as a 2-point road favorite.

The rest of the Super Bowl futures list includes the Houston Texans at +4000, Tennessee at +4500 and the Buffalo Bills at +5000. From that trio, only the Texans are favored this week, as 3-point home favorites against the Bills.
