Super Bowl 54 Prop Odds Preview

Super Bowl 54 is still more than a week away, but the oddsmakers at Bovada Sportsbook have already delivered a massive load of Super Bowl props for the big game that allow bettors to have money on the line from the opening coin toss to the Gatorade shower at the end of the game.

As usual, the pregame props are a long list. It starts with the coin toss where you can take either heads or tails at -105. You can also bet on which team will win the coin toss, with both the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers at -105.

Bettors wager on Lovato’s anthem performance length

Some of the most popular pregame props every year are about the national anthem. This year the NFL has selected singer Demi Lovato to perform the Star-Spangled Banner. For song length props, Bovada is offering three options this year. The longest is two minutes flat with the OVER at -200 and the UNDER at +150. One minute 58 seconds has the OVER at -325 and the UNDER at -120. And, one minute 55 seconds has the OVER at -450 and the UNDER at +275. For comparison, last year Gladys Knight took two minutes one second to complete the song.

You can also bet on whether Lovato will forget or omit a word from the anthem like Christina Aguilera did in 2011. Yes on that prop is listed at +550, while No comes in at -1000.

Run play favored to open Super Bowl 54

Once the game starts — you know, the reason all of this is happening in the first place — you can bet on the first offensive play of the game. Right now at Bovada, a run is favored at -150 and a pass comes in at +115.

The first score of the game is another popular prop for bettors. For Super Bowl 54, a field goal is the favorite for the first score of the game at +135. A first-score touchdown is listed at +190, while any other score — like a safety, for instance — is a +4500 long shot. That did happen in Super Bowl 48 when a bungled snap led to a safety and a 2-0 lead for the Seattle Seahawks.

Winning coach could be soaked in red

Another popular prop bet that has nothing to do with the on-field action is the color of the Gatorade shower splashed on the head coach of the winning team. The favorite color at Bovada this year is red at +150. That’s followed by Clear/Water at +300, Lime/Green/Yellow at +325, Orange at +400 and Blue at +500. Purple is the big underdog at +1800. Last year Bill Belichick was doused in blue Gatorade.
