UFC 211 Odds Preview: Miocic vs. dos Santos

Two UFC titles could change hand this weekend as UFC Heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic and UFC Women’s Strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk both put their titles on the line at UFC 211.

Miocic will make his second Heavyweight title defense against Junior dos Santos. At the Bovada Sportsbook they’re listing Miocic as a -140 favorite. He has won his last four fights and sports a 7-1 record in his last eight. His last fight was at UFC 203 in September when he defeated Alistair Overeem by knockout in the first round. With that win, he improved to 16-2 with 12 wins by KO.

This will be dos Santos’ first fight in over a year and the Bovada Sportsbook has him pegged as a +110 underdog. He hasn’t fought since UFC Fight Night 86 in April 2016. He faced Ben Rothwell and won by unanimous decision. With that win he is 3-3 in his last six fights and owns an 18-4 record overall, with 12 wins by KO.

You may have noticed the 2 at the end of the event title, which of course means this is a rematch. Miocic and dos Santos first clashed at UFC on Fox 13 in December 2014. That fight was awarded Fight of the Night honors and was a well-fought back-and-forth tilt won by dos Santos by unanimous decision.

In the Women’s Strawweight title bout Jedrzejczyk will face Jessica Andrade. Jedrzejczyk is a -170 favorite and enters the fight undefeated at 13-0 with four wins by KO. This will be her fifth title defense. She last fought at UFC 205 in November and defeated Karolina Kowalkiewicz by unanimous decision.

Andrade is a +140 underdog and last fought at UFC Fight Night 104 in February where she defeated Angela Hill by unanimous decision. That was her third straight win and improved her record to 16-5 with five wins by KO and seven by submission.

Also on the main card this weekend is a Welterweight bout between Demian Maia and Jorge Masvidal. Masvidal is a small favorite at -125, while Maia is listed at -105. Masvidal has won his last three fights, including a TKO victory over Donald Cerrone in his last bout at UFC on Fox 23 in January.

Maia has an eight-fight winning streak and last fought at UFC on Fox 21 in August. He beat Carlos Condit by submission via rear-naked choke and has now won three of his last four by submission.
