UFC Betting: Volkanovski vs Ortega Odds

A pair of UFC titles will be on the line this weekend at UFC 266: Volkanovski vs Ortega.

The main event this weekend is a UFC featherweight championship bout between champion Alexander Volkanovski and challenger Brian Ortega. At Bovada Sportsbook, Volkanovski is a -175 favorite and Ortega a +145 underdog.

Volkanovski has won 19 straight fights and boasts an overall record of 22-1 with 11 wins by knockout and three by submission. Due to fight postponements caused by the pandemic, he hasn’t fought in over a year. His last fight was at UFC 251 in July 2020 when he defeated Max Holloway by split decision as a -190 favorite.

Ortega is 15-1 and one no contest, with three wins by KO and seven by submission. He last fought at UFC Fight Night 180 in October, defeating Chan Sung Jung by unanimous decision as a +160 underdog.

Shevchenko big favorite to defend flyweight crown

The other title bout on the main card this weekend is a women’s flyweight bout between champion Valentina Shevchenko and challenger Lauren Murphy. At Bovada, Shevchenko is heavily favored at -1500 and Murphy is a +750 underdog.

Shevchenko has won her last seven fights and owns an overall record of 21-3 with seven wins by KO and seven by submission. She last fought at UFC 261 in April, topping Jessica Andrade by second-round TKO as a -555 favorite.

Murphy is on a five-fight winning streak and her overall record stands at 15-4 with eight wins by KO and one by submission. She last fought at UFC 263 in June and bested Joanne Calderwood by split decision as a +110 underdog.

Diaz an underdog to Lawler in return to Octagon

One other notable fight on the main card this weekend is a welterweight battle that features the return of Nick Diaz against Robbie Lawler. At Bovada, Lawler is a slim -115 favorite and Diaz a -105 underdog.

Diaz hasn’t fought since 2015 due to a lengthy suspension for drug and prohibited substance violations. He owns a 26-9 record with two no contests, 13 wins by KO and eight by submission. His last fight was at UFC 185 in January 2015 as a +305 underdog against Anderson Silva when a no contest was declared. It was originally scored a win for Silva via unanimous decision but was switched to a no contest following positive drug tests by both Silva and Diaz.

Lawler has lost his last four fights to drop his record to 28-15 and one no contest, with 20 wins by KO. He last fought at UFC Fight Night 175 in August and lost to Neil Magny by unanimous decision as a +195 underdog.
