Purdue Defeats Maryland 62-60 - Recap

Carsen Edwards scored 20 points leading Purdue to a 62-60 victory over Maryland at Mackey Arena on Thursday.

Purdue won the battle on the scoreboard, but not at the payout window as they failed to cover the -8.5-point spread.

Aaron Wheeler had 15 points for Purdue and Matt Haarms chipped in with 10 points. Ryan Cline had 4 assists for them, while Matt Haarms was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 6 boards.

Maryland got 18 points from Anthony Cowan in a losing cause and another 12 points from Darryl Morsell. Anthony Cowan contributed 6 assists for them, while Bruno Fernando had 13 rebounds.

Purdue was losing at the break before taking care of business in the second half.

Maryland won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 34-25.

Next game, Purdue takes its act on the road to face Texas looking for another win. For Maryland, they head home to face Loyola-Chicago.
