Lamar got 16 points from Davion Buster and another 14 points from Christian Barrett. Jordan Hunter contributed 4 assists, while Christian Barrett cleaned the glass with 13 rebounds.
Sam Houston State got a 17-point performance from Kai Mitchell, who was supported by 13 points from Cam Delaney. Josh Delaney had 6 assists in a losing cause for Sam Houston State, while Kai Mitchell grabbed 10 rebounds.
Lamar was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
