Zach Cooks scored 22 points leading NJIT to a 59-58 victory over Cornell at Newman Arena at Bartels Hall on Wednesday.
Souleymane Diakite had 10 points for NJIT and Shyquan Gibbs chipped in with 9 points. Shyquan Gibbs had 3 assists for them, while Souleymane Diakite was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 10 boards.
Cornell got 17 points from Terrance McBride in a losing cause and another 14 points from Josh Warren. Josh Warren contributed 4 assists for them, while Josh Warren had 8 rebounds.
NJIT was losing at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
NJIT won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 32-31.
