Mikey Watkins scored 17 points leading Merrimack to a 69-60 victory over Army at Hammel Court on Wednesday.
Merrimack got 14 points from Devin Jensen and another 14 points from Juvaris Hayes. Juvaris Hayes contributed 8 assists, while Jaleel Lord cleaned the glass with 8 rebounds.
Army got a 18-point performance from Matt Wilson, who was supported by 18 points from Tommy Funk. Lonnie Grayson had 7 assists in a losing cause for Army, while Matt Wilson grabbed 11 rebounds.
Merrimack was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Army won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 30-26.
Next game, Merrimack takes its act on the road to face UC-Santa Barbara looking for another win. For Army, they head on the road to face Buffalo.
