VMI Falls 74-72 to Furman - Recap
VMI was scorched by Jordan Lyons for 26 points as Furman defeated them 74-72 in NCAA action on Wednesday.
Furman did not, however, defeat VMI against the spread, which closed at -16.5 at most sportsbooks.
Furman got 14 points from Clay Mounce and another 13 points from Noah Gurley. Jalen Slawson contributed 3 assists, while Jalen Slawson cleaned the glass with 8 rebounds.
VMI got a 19-point performance from Greg Parham, who was supported by 12 points from Jake Stephens. Garrett Gilkeson had 3 assists in a losing cause for VMI, while Kamdyn Curfman grabbed 5 rebounds.
Furman was losing at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Furman heads into a battle against Mercer. VMI, meanwhile, will have their next action against Wofford.
