Furman got 22 points from Mike Bothwell as they ran past Chattanooga 77-73 on Wednesday at McKenzie Arena.
Furman won on the scoreboard, but lost at the pay window as they failed to cover the -7.0-point spread.
Furman got 16 points from Jalen Slawson and another 13 points from Noah Gurley. Noah Gurley contributed 3 assists, while Clay Mounce cleaned the glass with 9 rebounds.
Chattanooga got 18 points from David Jean-Baptiste in a losing cause and another 17 points from KC Hankton. A.J. Caldwell contributed 5 assists for them, while Malachi Smith had 10 rebounds.
Furman had a 30-25 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
Furman looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Mercer. Chattanooga will aim to get back on the winning track at VMI.
