Southern cruised to victory on Monday, running Mississippi Valley State out of the gym and running up a 102-61 score at F.G. Clark Center.
Southern got 18 points from Samkelo Cele and another 12 points from Jayden Saddler. Jayden Saddler contributed 7 assists, while Andre Allen cleaned the glass with 10 rebounds.
Mississippi Valley State got 23 points from Caleb Hunter in a losing cause and another 15 points from Terry Collins. Terry Collins contributed 7 assists for them, while Alex Perry had 4 rebounds.
Southern was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Southern had a 43-18 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
