Fairfield Stags vs Providence Friars Wrap - Providence Wins 97-56
The battle between Providence and Fairfield didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Fairfield was handed a 97-56 defeat on Wednesday at Alumni Hall.
Providence won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -18.0-point spread as favorites.
Providence got 23 points from Nate Watson and another 18 points from David Duke. Jared Bynum contributed 8 assists, while Nate Watson cleaned the glass with 10 rebounds.
Fairfield got a 10-point performance from Taj Benning, who was supported by 10 points from Jalen Leach. Caleb Green had 4 assists in a losing cause for Fairfield, while Tshiefu Ngalakulondi grabbed 8 rebounds.
Providence was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Providence had a 42-26 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
Providence looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Indiana. Fairfield will aim to get back on the winning track at Stony Brook.
