Houston Downs Lamar 89-45 - Match Report
The battle between Houston and Lamar didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Lamar was handed a 89-45 defeat on Wednesday at Fertitta Center.
Houston got 25 points from Marcus Sasser and another 22 points from Tramon Mark. Quentin Grimes contributed 4 assists, while DeJon Jarreau cleaned the glass with 8 rebounds.
Lamar got 15 points from Anderson Kopp in a losing cause and another 8 points from Lincoln Smith. Quinlan Bennett contributed 3 assists for them, while Avery Sullivan had 7 rebounds.
Houston was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Houston won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 47-28.
Houston heads into a battle against Boise State. Lamar, meanwhile, will have their next action against Tulane.
