Sacred Heart Pioneers vs Rutgers Scarlet Knights Wrap - Rutgers Wins 86-63
The battle between Rutgers and Sacred Heart didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Sacred Heart was handed a 86-63 defeat on Wednesday at Rutgers Athletic Center.
Rutgers got 18 points from Ron Harper Jr. and another 17 points from Montez Mathis. Jacob Young contributed 8 assists, while Clifford Omoruyi cleaned the glass with 11 rebounds.
Sacred Heart got 17 points from Aaron Clarke in a losing cause and another 11 points from Mike Sixsmith. Aaron Clarke contributed 4 assists for them, while Cantavio Dutreil had 11 rebounds.
Rutgers was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Rutgers won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 44-29.
Next game, Rutgers takes its act home to face Fairleigh Dickinson looking for another win. For Sacred Heart, they head home to face Fairfield.
