The battle between Memphis and East Carolina didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as East Carolina was handed a 80-53 defeat on Sunday at Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum.
Memphis was a -7.0-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters.
Memphis got 15 points from Moussa Cisse and another 11 points from Boogie Ellis. Alex Lomax contributed 5 assists, while Moussa Cisse cleaned the glass with 9 rebounds.
East Carolina got a 15-point performance from Tremont Robinson-White, who was supported by 11 points from Brandon Suggs. Tristen Newton had 3 assists in a losing cause for East Carolina, while Jayden Gardner grabbed 11 rebounds.
Memphis was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Memphis won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 40-32.
Memphis looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Southern Methodist. East Carolina will aim to get back on the winning track at Central Florida.
