North Carolina got 16 points from Leaky Black as they ran past Miami 67-65 on Tuesday at Watsco Center.
North Carolina did not, however, defeat Miami against the spread, which closed at -3.5 at most sportsbooks.
North Carolina got 13 points from Kerwin Walton and another 12 points from Day'Ron Sharpe. Caleb Love contributed 4 assists, while Day'Ron Sharpe cleaned the glass with 16 rebounds.
Miami got 12 points from Earl Timberlake in a losing cause and another 11 points from Elijah Olaniyi. Earl Timberlake contributed 5 assists for them, while Nysier Brooks had 6 rebounds.
North Carolina was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
North Carolina won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 43-31.
