Recap - Virginia Defeats Coppin State 68-52
Virginia got 14 points from Jayden Gardner as they ran past Coppin State 68-52 on Friday at John Paul Jones Arena.
Kihei Clark had 12 points for Virginia and Igor Milicic Jr. chipped in with 11 points. Reece Beekman had 6 assists for them, while Jayden Gardner was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 12 boards.
Coppin State got 17 points from Daniel Titus in a losing cause and another 10 points from Sita Conteh. Jesse Zarzuela contributed 5 assists for them, while Nendah Tarke had 6 rebounds.
Virginia was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Virginia won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 40-32.
Next game, Virginia takes its act home to face Georgia looking for another win. For Coppin State, they head on the road to face Cleveland State.
