Recap - Grand Canyon Defeats UTSA 74-71

UTSA was burned for 25 points by Jovan Blacksher Jr. on Thursday as Grand Canyon picked up a 74-71 win at Grand Canyon University Arena.

Grand Canyon earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the -15.0-point spread.

Grand Canyon got 13 points from Holland Woods and another 13 points from Gabe McGlothan. Jovan Blacksher Jr. contributed 7 assists, while Gabe McGlothan cleaned the glass with 7 rebounds.

UTSA got a 24-point performance from Cedrick Alley Jr., who was supported by 18 points from Jacob Germany. Erik Czumbel had 2 assists in a losing cause for UTSA, while Cedrick Alley Jr. grabbed 11 rebounds.

Grand Canyon was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.

UTSA had a 44-30 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.

Next game, Grand Canyon takes its act home to face Mississippi Valley State looking for another win. For UTSA, they head on the road to face Sam Houston State.
