Vermont cruised to victory on Saturday, running UMBC out of the gym and running up a 86-59 score at Roy L Patrick Gymnasium.
Vermont got 20 points from Aaron Deloney and another 18 points from Ryan Davis. Robin Duncan contributed 6 assists, while Isaiah Powell cleaned the glass with 8 rebounds.
UMBC got a 13-point performance from Keondre Kennedy, who was supported by 10 points from Matteo Picarelli. Darnell Rogers had 3 assists in a losing cause for UMBC, while Yaw Obeng-Mensah grabbed 6 rebounds.
Vermont was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Vermont had a 35-25 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
