Maui Invitational - Houston Cougars vs Oregon Ducks Recap - Houston Wins 78-49
The battle between Houston and Oregon didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Oregon was handed a 78-49 defeat on Wednesday at Michelob Ultra Arena.
Houston won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -5.0-point spread as favorites.
Fabian White Jr. had 15 points for Houston and Marcus Sasser chipped in with 14 points. Jamal Shead had 6 assists for them, while Fabian White Jr. was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 7 boards.
Oregon got 13 points from Eric Williams Jr. in a losing cause and another 8 points from Jacob Young. Eric Williams Jr. contributed 3 assists for them, while Eric Williams Jr. had 5 rebounds.
Houston was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Houston won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 32-23.
Next game, Houston takes its act home to face Northwestern State looking for another win. For Oregon, they head home to face Montana.
