Georgia Tech was victimized for 20 points and 10 rebounds by Jimmy Boeheim as Syracuse defeated them 74-73 in NCAA action on Monday.
Syracuse did not, however, defeat Georgia Tech against the spread, which closed at -8.5 at most sportsbooks.
Syracuse got 18 points from Cole Swider and another 15 points from Buddy Boeheim. Joseph Girard III contributed 5 assists, while Cole Swider cleaned the glass with 12 rebounds.
Georgia Tech got 19 points from Rodney Howard in a losing cause and another 14 points from Jordan Usher. Jordan Usher contributed 5 assists for them, while Jordan Usher had 13 rebounds.
Syracuse was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Georgia Tech won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 46-39.
Next game, Syracuse takes its act on the road to face Notre Dame looking for another win. For Georgia Tech, they head home to face Virginia Tech.
