Elon Defeats Hampton 70-68 - Recap
Max Mackinnon scored 18 points leading Elon to a 70-68 victory over Hampton at Schar Center on Monday.
Elon earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the -6.5-point spread.
Elon got 14 points from Jerald Gillens-Butler and another 10 points from Sean Halloran. Sean Halloran contributed 7 assists, while Torrence Watson cleaned the glass with 10 rebounds.
Hampton got 15 points from Marquis Godwin in a losing cause and another 15 points from Jordan Nesbitt. Russell Dean contributed 5 assists for them, while Kyrese Mullen had 10 rebounds.
First-half bettors who backed Elon were victorious, as the score was $HalfScore at the break.
Elon won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 31-28.
Elon looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the College of Charleston. Hampton will aim to get back on the winning track at Hofstra.
