Xavier grabbed a 80-77 win over Cincinnati on Saturday, behind a 21-point effort from Souley Boum at Fifth Third Arena.
The match was decisive in favor of Xavier, but bettors saw the game push as the margin of victory was the same as the closing point spread.
Xavier got 18 points from Jack Nunge and another 15 points from Colby Jones. Colby Jones contributed 4 assists, while Zach Freemantle cleaned the glass with 12 rebounds.
Cincinnati got 22 points from David DeJulius in a losing cause and another 16 points from Viktor Lakhin. Mika Adams-Woods contributed 6 assists for them, while Viktor Lakhin had 8 rebounds.
Xavier was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Xavier had a 35-32 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
Xavier looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Southern. Cincinnati will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Miami-Ohio.
