Jaylen Forbes poured in 31 points for Tulane on Wednesday, as they defeated SMU 97-88 at Moody Coliseum.
Tulane won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -4.5-point spread as favorites.
Tulane got 25 points from Jalen Cook and another 15 points from Kevin Cross. Jalen Cook contributed 8 assists, while Sion James cleaned the glass with 8 rebounds.
SMU got a 27-point performance from Stefan Todorovic, who was supported by 20 points from Efe Odigie. Zach Nutall had 8 assists in a losing cause for SMU, while Samuell Williamson grabbed 11 rebounds.
SMU won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 41-26.
Next game, Tulane takes its act home to face Central Florida looking for another win. For SMU, they head home to face Cincinnati.
