The battle between Wichita State and South Florida didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as South Florida was handed a 69-49 defeat on Sunday at Charles Koch Arena.
Wichita State won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -7.0-point spread as favorites.
Wichita State got 24 points from Craig Porter Jr. and another 11 points from Xavier Bell. Craig Porter Jr. contributed 5 assists, while Kenny Pohto cleaned the glass with 10 rebounds.
South Florida got 11 points from Serrel Smith Jr. in a losing cause and another 10 points from Tyler Harris. Ryan Conwell contributed 3 assists for them, while Sam Hines Jr. had 9 rebounds.
Wichita State was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Wichita State won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 36-26.
