Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa scored 15 points leading Columbia to a 83-72 victory over Lafayette at Francis S. Levien Gymnasium on Tuesday.
Columbia got 15 points from Avery Brown and another 12 points from Josh Odunowo. Kenny Noland contributed 5 assists, while Blair Thompson cleaned the glass with 9 rebounds.
Lafayette got 28 points from Eric Sondberg in a losing cause and another 15 points from Mark Butler. Mark Butler contributed 8 assists for them, while Chris Rubayo had 7 rebounds.
Columbia was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Lafayette had a 29-27 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
Columbia heads into a battle against Fairleigh Dickinson. Lafayette, meanwhile, will have their next action against La Salle.
