Creighton Downs Butler 79-57 - Match Report
The battle between Creighton and Butler didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Butler was handed a 79-57 defeat on Saturday at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
Creighton won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -2.5-point spread as favorites.
Creighton got 27 points from Baylor Scheierman and another 21 points from Ryan Kalkbrenner. Steven Ashworth contributed 8 assists, while Baylor Scheierman cleaned the glass with 10 rebounds.
Butler got 18 points from Jalen Thomas in a losing cause and another 13 points from Posh Alexander. Posh Alexander contributed 4 assists for them, while Jalen Thomas had 5 rebounds.
Creighton was losing at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Creighton had a 35-24 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
Creighton heads into a battle against Connecticut. Butler, meanwhile, will have their next action against Villanova.
