Rutgers Falls 68-60 to Purdue - Recap
Purdue got a 26-point performance from Zach Edey, who added 12 rebounds as Purdue ran past Rutgers 68-60 on Sunday at Jersey Mike's Arena.
Purdue won the battle on the scoreboard, but not at the payout window as they failed to cover the -10.0-point spread.
Braden Smith had 19 points for Purdue and Mason Gillis chipped in with 8 points. Lance Jones had 8 assists for them, while Zach Edey was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 12 boards.
Rutgers got a 15-point performance from Aundre Hyatt, who was supported by 13 points from Clifford Omoruyi. Jamichael Davis had 4 assists in a losing cause for Rutgers, while Antwone Woolfolk grabbed 6 rebounds.
Purdue led at halftime, 33-21.
Purdue won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 31-30.
Purdue looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Northwestern. Rutgers will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Penn State.
