Recap - Murray State Defeats Valparaiso 80-68
Murray State got 24 points from JaCobi Wood as they ran past Valparaiso 80-68 on Saturday at CFSB Center.
Murray State did not, however, defeat Valparaiso against the spread, which closed at -13.0 at most sportsbooks.
Nick Ellington had 14 points for Murray State and Rob Perry chipped in with 12 points. JaCobi Wood had 3 assists for them, while Nick Ellington was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 11 boards.
Valparaiso got a 26-point performance from Cooper Schwieger, who was supported by 13 points from Isaiah Stafford. Darius DeAveiro had 9 assists in a losing cause for Valparaiso, while Jerome Palm grabbed 5 rebounds.
Murray State trailed at halftime, 44-37.
Murray State won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 33-20.
Murray State looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Belmont. Valparaiso will aim to get back on the winning track at Northern Iowa.
