SMU vs East Carolina Final: 80-77 - Recap
SMU got 16 points from Chuck Harris as they ran past East Carolina 80-77 on Wednesday at Moody Coliseum.
SMU did not, however, defeat East Carolina against the spread, which closed at -12.0 at most sportsbooks.
SMU got 15 points from Zhuric Phelps and another 10 points from Ricardo Wright. Chuck Harris contributed 3 assists, while Samuell Williamson cleaned the glass with 13 rebounds.
East Carolina got 28 points from RJ Felton in a losing cause and another 13 points from Brandon Johnson. Bobby Pettiford Jr. contributed 6 assists for them, while Brandon Johnson had 11 rebounds.
SMU was losing at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
SMU had a 44-40 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
SMU looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the UAB. East Carolina will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Charlotte.
