Missouri Valley Tournament - Valparaiso Beacons vs Belmont Bruins Wrap - Belmont Wins 86-61
The battle between Belmont and Valparaiso didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Valparaiso was handed a 86-61 defeat on Thursday at Enterprise Center.
Belmont won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -14.0-point spread as favorites.
Belmont got 22 points from Malik Dia and another 15 points from Brigham Rogers. Keishawn Davidson contributed 8 assists, while Malik Dia cleaned the glass with 10 rebounds.
Valparaiso got 20 points from Isaiah Stafford in a losing cause and another 12 points from Cooper Schwieger. Jerome Palm contributed 2 assists for them, while Jerome Palm had 14 rebounds.
Belmont was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Valparaiso had a 45-42 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
