UMBC Defeats The Citadel 120-111 - Recap
The Citadel was victimized for 32 points and 20 rebounds by Jairus Lyles as UMBC defeated them 120-111 in NCAA action on Monday.
UMBC got 22 points from Will Darley and another 18 points from Joe Sherburne. K.J. Maura contributed 7 assists, while Jairus Lyles cleaned the glass with 20 rebounds.
The Citadel got a 24-point performance from Preston Parks, who was supported by 21 points from Brian White. Frankie Johnson had 8 assists in a losing cause for The Citadel, while Zane Najdawi grabbed 10 rebounds.
UMBC was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
UMBC won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 62-47.
UMBC looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the James Madison. The Citadel will aim to get back on the winning track vs. UNC Greensboro.
