Phoenix Falls 86-50 to Sky - Recap
The battle between the Sky and Mercury didn't turn out to be much of a battle at all as Phoenix was handed a 86-50 defeat on Friday at Wintrust Arena.
The Sky were a -3.0-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 165.0.
Chicago got 22 points from Kahleah Copper and another 13 points from Candace Parker. Courtney Vandersloot contributed 10 assists, while Azura Stevens cleaned the glass with 6 rebounds.
The Mercury got a 16-point performance from Brittney Griner, who was supported by 7 points from Alanna Smith. Skylar Diggins-Smith had 3 assists in a losing cause for Phoenix, while Brianna Turner grabbed 7 rebounds.
The Sky hit the break winning 46-24 before taking care of business in the second half.
Chicago won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 34-33.
