Winnipeg Defeats Edmonton 26-16 - Recap

Brady Oliveira scampered through the Edmonton defense for 105 yards as Winnipeg handed the Elks a 26-16 defeat on Friday at The Brick Field at Commonwealth Stadium.

Winnipeg won on the scoreboard, but lost at the pay window as they failed to cover the -11.0-point spread. The game went UNDER the consensus closing total of 43.0.

Brady Oliveira rushed for 105 yards, while Andrew Harris added 39 yards in the win. Rasheed Bailey and Kenny Lawler Jr. added 93 and 82 receiving yards respectively.

James Wilder Jr. rushed for 44 yards for Edmonton, while Taylor Cornelius added 19 yards. Taylor Cornelius threw for 187 yards for the Elks, while receivers Greg Ellingson and Derel Walker had 67 and 34 yards respectively.

Edmonton lost the offensive yardage battle to Winnipeg 385-258 yards in Friday's game. Winnipeg had more first downs as that total ended up 18-15.

The time of possession battle favored Winnipeg as their offense was on the field for 33:18, longer than the 26:42 of their opponents.

Winnipeg looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Lions. The Elks will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Hamilton.
