Ball State Cardinals vs Indiana Hoosiers Wrap - Indiana Wins 34-24

Michael Penix Jr. threw for 326 yards to lead the Hoosiers over Ball State 34-24 on Saturday in Week 1 action at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Indiana did not, however, defeat the Cardinals against the spread, which closed at -18.0 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 60.0.

Michael Penix Jr. completed 24 of 40 pass attempts for 326 yards for the Hoosiers in the win.

Caleb Huntley rushed for 81 yards for Ball State, while Justin Hall added 13 yards. Drew Plitt threw for 298 yards for the Cardinals, while receivers Yo'Heinz Tyler and Antwan Davis had 71 and 60 yards respectively.

Ball State lost the offensive yardage battle to Indiana 474-398 yards in Saturday's game. Ball State had more first downs as that total ended up 26-25.

Ball State led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 30:59-29:01 split in that important category.

Indiana looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Eastern Illinois. Ball State will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Fordham.
