Old Dominion Falls 28-17 to Cavaliers - Recap

The Monarchs came up short against the Cavaliers in Week 4 action on Saturday, falling 28-17 at Scott Stadium.

The Cavaliers won the battle on the scoreboard, but not at the payout window as they failed to cover the -27.0-point spread. UNDER bettors were rewarded when the final score pointed to an UNDER play.

Bryce Perkins rushed for 35 yards, while Wayne Taulapapa added 33 yards in the win. Joe Reed and Lamont Atkins added 40 and 34 receiving yards respectively.

Kesean Strong rushed for 39 yards for Old Dominion, while Lala Davis added 15 yards. Stone Smartt threw for 206 yards for the Monarchs, while receivers Matt Geiger and Kesean Strong had 47 and 39 yards respectively.

Virginia lost the offensive yardage battle to Old Dominion 270-244 yards in Saturday's game. Old Dominion had more first downs as that total ended up 16-14.

Old Dominion led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 35:16-24:44 split in that important category.

Virginia heads into a Week 5 battle against Notre Dame. Old Dominion, meanwhile, will have their next action against East Carolina.
