NIU Falls 27-20 to Cardinals - Recap
Caleb Huntley scampered through the NIU defense for 157 yards as Ball State handed the Huskies a 27-20 defeat on Saturday at Huskie Stadium.
Bettors who backed the Cardinals were also rewarded, as they covered the closing number as an underdog of +4.0 at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go UNDER the closing total of 54.5.
Caleb Huntley rushed for 157 yards, while Walter Fletcher added 35 yards in the win. Riley Miller and Yo'Heinz Tyler added 15 and 7 receiving yards respectively.
Tre Harbison rushed for 146 yards for NIU, while Tyrice Richie added 13 yards. Ross Bowers threw for 241 yards for the Huskies, while receivers Daniel Crawford and Cole Tucker had 85 and 69 yards respectively.
NIU outgained Ball State 388-269 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 20-18 by the Cardinals.
Ball State led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 32:02-27:58 split in that important category.
