Recap - Mountaineers Defeat South Carolina 20-15

Appalachian State earned a 20-15 victory over South Carolina on Saturday in Week 11 action at Williams-Brice Stadium.

Dakereon Joyner rushed for 14 yards for South Carolina, while Rico Dowdle added 9 yards. Ryan Hilinski threw for 325 yards for the Gamecocks, while receivers Bryan Edwards and Rico Dowdle had 90 and 67 yards respectively.

Appalachian State was outgained by South Carolina 346-202 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 22-11 by the Gamecocks.

Appalachian State lost the time of possession battle 30:10-29:50, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Appalachian State looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Georgia State. South Carolina will aim to get back on the winning track at Texas A&M.
