Blazers vs Miners Final: 37-10 - Recap
Dylan Hopkins tore up the turf for 163 rushing yards on Saturday to lead the Blazers to a 37-10 win over the Miners at Legion Field.
The Blazers were a -14.5-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 42.0.
Dylan Hopkins rushed for 163 yards, while Jermaine Brown Jr. added 116 yards in the win. Myron Mitchell and Austin Watkins added 47 and 45 receiving yards respectively.
Treyvon Hughes rushed for 26 yards for UTEP, while Mitchell Crawford added 26 yards. Gavin Hardison threw for 222 yards for the Miners, while receivers Jacob Cowing and Alan Busey had 85 and 31 yards respectively.
UTEP was outgained by UAB 449-312 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 19-17 by the Miners.
UTEP lost the time of possession battle 30:16-29:44, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, UAB takes its act home to face Louisiana Tech looking for another win. For UTEP, they head on the road to face New Mexico State.
