Georgia State Falls 56-27 to Mountaineers - Recap

Appalachian State got a 131-yard performance from Darrynton Evans as a key part of its 56-27 victory over the Panthers on Saturday at Parker H. Petit Field at Georgia State Stadium.

The Mountaineers were a -15.0-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 61.5.

Darrynton Evans rushed for 131 yards, while Zac Thomas added 52 yards in the win. Corey Sutton and Malik Williams added 173 and 45 receiving yards respectively.

Destin Coates rushed for 97 yards for Georgia State, while Tra Barnett added 90 yards. Dan Ellington threw for 88 yards for the Panthers, while receivers Cadarrius Thompson and Devin Gentry had 34 and 32 yards respectively.

Georgia State lost the offensive yardage battle to Appalachian State 553-324 yards in Saturday's game. Appalachian State had more first downs as that total ended up 25-13.

Appalachian State led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 36:50-23:10 split in that important category.

Next game, Appalachian State takes its act home to face Texas State looking for another win. For Georgia State, they head home to face South Alabama.
