Nebraska Defeats Maryland 54-7 - Recap

The Terrapins were burned by JD Spielman for 104 receiving yards on Saturday as the Cornhuskers picked up a 54-7 win at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium.

Nebraska won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -6.5-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 62.5.

Adrian Martinez rushed for 94 yards, while Luke McCaffrey added 83 yards in the win. JD Spielman and Austin Allen added 104 and 30 receiving yards respectively.

Javon Leake rushed for 80 yards for Maryland, while Lance Legendre added 35 yards. Tyler DeSue threw for 0 yards for the Terrapins, while receivers Brian Cobbs and Dontay Demus Jr. had 12 and 12 yards respectively.

Nebraska outgained Maryland 531-206 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 31-9 by the Cornhuskers.

Nebraska led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 39:58-20:02 split in that important category.

Next game, Nebraska takes its act home to face Iowa looking for another win. For Maryland, they head on the road to face Michigan State.
