Fighting Illini Fall 41-14 Against Minnesota - Game Recap
Minnesota got a 224-yard performance from Mohamed Ibrahim as a key part of its 41-14 victory over the Fighting Illini on Saturday at Memorial Stadium.
The Golden Gophers were a -7.5-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 64.5.
Mohamed Ibrahim rushed for 224 yards, while Cam Wiley added 57 yards in the win. Rashod Bateman and Mohamed Ibrahim added 154 and 31 receiving yards respectively.
Mike Epstein rushed for 108 yards for Illinois, while Coran Taylor added 42 yards. Coran Taylor threw for 106 yards for the Fighting Illini, while receivers Josh Imatorbhebhe and Daniel Barker had 60 and 21 yards respectively.
Illinois lost the offensive yardage battle to Minnesota 556-287 yards in Saturday's game. Minnesota had more first downs as that total ended up 30-14.
Illinois lost the time of possession battle 37:35-22:25, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, Minnesota takes its act home to face Iowa looking for another win. For Illinois, they head on the road to face Rutgers.
