WKU Defeats Middle Tennessee 20-17 - Recap

The Blue Raiders came up short against the Hilltoppers in Week 5 action on Saturday, falling 20-17 at Johnny (Red) Floyd Stadium.

The Hilltoppers won the battle on the scoreboard, but not at the payout window as they failed to cover the -7.0-point spread. UNDER bettors were rewarded when the final score pointed to an UNDER play.

Tyrrell Pigrome rushed for 55 yards, while C.J. Jones added 40 yards in the win. Xavier Lane and Dayton Wade added 73 and 66 receiving yards respectively.

Asher O'Hara rushed for 98 yards for Middle Tennessee, while Chaton Mobley added 10 yards. Asher O'Hara threw for 217 yards for the Blue Raiders, while receivers Jarrin Pierce and Yusuf Ali had 65 and 62 yards respectively.

Middle Tennessee lost the offensive yardage battle to WKU 326-319 yards in Saturday's game. WKU had more first downs as that total ended up 21-18.

The time of possession battle favored WKU as their offense was on the field for 31:35, longer than the 28:25 of their opponents.

WKU heads into a 6 battle against Marshall. Middle Tennessee, meanwhile, will have their next action against FIU.
