UAB Blazers vs Rice Owls Wrap - UAB Wins 21-16
The Blazers grabbed a Week 15 victory over the Owls on Saturday, winning 21-16 at Rice Stadium.
UAB did not, however, defeat the Owls against the spread, which closed at -7.0 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 42.0.
Tyler Johnston III rushed for 41 yards, while Larry Wooden added 33 yards in the win. Myron Mitchell and Trea Shropshire added 63 and 54 receiving yards respectively.
Khalan Griffin rushed for 34 yards for Rice, while Jovoni Johnson added 31 yards. Jovoni Johnson threw for 161 yards for the Owls, while receivers Jake Bailey and Jordan Myers had 72 and 62 yards respectively.
Rice lost the offensive yardage battle to UAB 354-254 yards in Saturday's game. Rice had more first downs as that total ended up 20-13.
Rice led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 37:18-22:42 split in that important category.
