Recap - Fighting Irish Defeat Syracuse 45-21
The Orange had no answer for Kyren Williams on Saturday as the Fighting Irish rolled to a 45-21 win at Notre Dame Stadium.
The Fighting Irish earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the -34.5-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 51.0 were rewarded with a winning wager.
Kyren Williams rushed for 110 yards, while Chris Tyree added 109 yards in the win. Javon McKinley and Ben Skowronek added 111 and 71 receiving yards respectively.
Sean Tucker rushed for 113 yards for Syracuse, while Cooper Lutz added 102 yards. Rex Culpepper threw for 185 yards for the Orange, while receivers Taj Harris and Sean Tucker had 69 and 46 yards respectively.
Notre Dame outgained Syracuse 568-414 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 26-15 by the Fighting Irish.
Syracuse lost the time of possession battle 33:50-26:10, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
