Hawkeyes vs Hoosiers Final: 34-6 - Recap

Indiana couldn't hang with the Hawkeyes on Saturday as Iowa blasted the Hoosiers 34-6 in Week 1 action at Kinnick Stadium.

Bettors who backed the Hawkeyes were also rewarded, as they covered the closing number as a favorite of -3.5 at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go UNDER the closing total of 45.5.

Tyler Goodson rushed for 99 yards, while Ivory Kelly-Martin added 44 yards in the win. Sam LaPorta and Nico Ragaini added 83 and 21 receiving yards respectively.

Stephen Carr rushed for 57 yards for Indiana, while Chris Childers added 14 yards. Jack Tuttle threw for 0 yards for the Hoosiers, while receivers Ty Fryfogle and Peyton Hendershot had 84 and 26 yards respectively.

Indiana lost the offensive yardage battle to Iowa 303-233 yards in Saturday's game. Iowa had more first downs as that total ended up 18-11.

The time of possession battle favored Indiana as their offense was on the field for 32:04, longer than the 27:56 of their opponents.

Next game, Iowa takes its act on the road to face Iowa State looking for another win. For Indiana, they head home to face Idaho.
