Mean Green Fall 49-21 Against Marshall - Game Recap

Grant Wells was good for 323 yards through the air on Friday as the Thundering Herd got past the Mean Green by a score of 49-21 at Apogee Stadium.

Marshall won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -11.0-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 66.0.

Grant Wells completed 24 of 32 pass attempts for 323 yards for the Thundering Herd in the win.

DeAndre Torrey rushed for 179 yards for North Texas, while Ayo Adeyi added 86 yards. Austin Aune threw for 121 yards for the Mean Green, while receivers Jason Pirtle and Roderic Burns had 35 and 32 yards respectively.

North Texas lost the offensive yardage battle to Marshall 477-411 yards in Friday's game. Marshall had more first downs as that total ended up 24-18.

North Texas lost the time of possession battle 32:14-27:46, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Next game, Marshall takes its act home to face FIU looking for another win. For North Texas, they head home to face Liberty.
