Cavaliers Fall 66-49 Against BYU - Game Recap

Jaren Hall's 349-yard performance through the air was the key in BYU's 66-49 win over Virginia on Saturday at LaVell Edwards Stadium.

Bettors who backed the Cougars were also rewarded, as they covered the closing number as a favorite of -1.5 at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go OVER the closing total of 67.0.

Jaren Hall completed 22 of 37 pass attempts for 349 yards for the Cougars in the win.

Brennan Armstrong rushed for 94 yards for Virginia, while Devin Darrington added 60 yards. Brennan Armstrong threw for 337 yards for the Cavaliers, while receivers Dontayvion Wicks and Keytaon Thompson had 125 and 91 yards respectively.

Virginia lost the offensive yardage battle to BYU 734-588 yards in Saturday's game. BYU had more first downs as that total ended up 36-28.

Virginia lost the time of possession battle 34:02-25:58, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Next game, BYU takes its act home to face Idaho State looking for another win. For Virginia, they head home to face Notre Dame.
