Eagles Fall 28-8 Against Coastal Carolina - Game Recap
The battle between the Chanticleers and Eagles didn't turn out to be much of a battle at all as Georgia Southern was handed a 28-8 defeat on Saturday at Allen E. Paulson Stadium.
The Chanticleers were a -16.0-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 56.5.
Shermari Jones rushed for 96 yards, while Braydon Bennett added 78 yards in the win. Kameron Brown and Isaiah Likely added 30 and 23 receiving yards respectively.
Justin Tomlin rushed for 39 yards for Georgia Southern, while Logan Wright added 35 yards. Cam Ransom threw for 64 yards for the Eagles, while receivers Khaleb Hood and Amare Jones had 66 and 45 yards respectively.
Coastal Carolina outgained Georgia Southern 305-233 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 17-16 by the Chanticleers.
The time of possession battle favored Coastal Carolina as their offense was on the field for 31:37, longer than the 28:23 of their opponents.
