Appalachian State Defeats South Alabama 31-7 - Recap

South Alabama couldn't hang with the Mountaineers on Saturday as Appalachian State blasted the Jaguars 31-7 in Week 11 action at Kidd Brewer Stadium.

The Mountaineers were a -21.5-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 51.5.

Camerun Peoples rushed for 90 yards, while Nate Noel added 22 yards in the win. Jalen Virgil and Malik Williams added 57 and 50 receiving yards respectively.

Terrion Avery rushed for 24 yards for South Alabama, while Kareem Walker added 20 yards. Desmond Trotter threw for 221 yards for the Jaguars, while receivers Jalen Tolbert and Jalen Wayne had 108 and 50 yards respectively.

The time of possession battle favored South Alabama as their offense was on the field for 30:05, longer than the 29:55 of their opponents.

Appalachian State heads into a Week 12 battle against Troy. South Alabama, meanwhile, will have their next action against Tennessee.
